Paige Cameron

Opera Scenes Assistant Director

Paige Cameron (she/they) is a stage director, singer, and teaching artist passionate about making opera accessible to all by reimagining what it can be. A native to the Chicago area, they've directed across the city for companies like Chicago City Opera (Die tote Stadt, Bluebeard's Castle, La Femme Bohème) and Thompson Street Opera (Forever, Wet Dirt, The Boy Who Wanted to Be A Robot), as well as assistant directing for Lyric Opera of Chicago (Frida Kahlo and the Bravest Girl in the World, Katie: The Strongest of the Strong) and associate directing for the Gilbert and Sullivan Opera Company of Chicago (Ruddigore, H.M.S. Pinafore).


Paige also teaches with Lyric Opera of Chicago, working in public schools across the city to bring opera to young people and young people to the opera. In 2023, she was named a member of the International Teaching Artist Collaborative's Young and Emerging Leaders Forum for her work in education. Recent directing credits include Candide at the University of Notre Dame and Stone Soup with Opera Saratoga. Paige holds a Bachelor of Music in vocal performance and opera as well as a certificate in musical theatre from the Bienen School of Music at Northwestern University.
